Rong Jin

I am a PhD Candidate in Finance at the Telfer School of Management, University of Ottawa.

My research interests lie at the intersection of corporate finance, corporate governance, and textual analysis. I use large-scale textual data and empirical methods to examine how managerial characteristics, executive communication, and disclosure practices shape corporate decision-making, firm risk, and firm value.

Executive Communication and Corporate Finance

I examine how information conveyed through executive communication relates to firms’ financial policies and capital-market outcomes.

Executive Team Dynamics and Corporate Governance

I study how dynamics within top management teams relate to corporate governance, financial decision-making, and firm value.

Boilerplate Disclosure and Firm Risk

I investigate the financial implications of standardized language in corporate disclosures, including its relation to firms’ information environments and risk.
